I hate mondays. They are the worse thing in the world. You just go back to school after your too short weekend that was amazing and you just really want it to be extended, and then to make it worse you have to run again. On top of all of that, it's normally speed. GREAT.

I had an orthodontist appointment. Just keep on adding to the horrible monday. So I thought that it was just going to be a long run when I made the appointment what 4 or 5 weeks ago? NOPE. Found out last night that it was speed. oh joy, get to miss the one speed workout of the week.

I was able to go early and get done at the time I was supposed to start, which helped lots. When I got home I immediately got ready and ran over to the track. it's about 1.5 miles over there. Probably a bit more. When I got there, everyone was just finishing their 2nd set, moving on to their last one. So I got in 3 laps of speed changes when they were ready to start.

The workout was 3 sets of an 800, 600, 400. Did the first set with the group. It was really weird because one leg got super sore, and the other was just a little sore. and then I got a gigantic side ache, and it KILLED!!! Lap in between the sets and standing recovery. on the 600s jogged 200 and stood for the rest of the time.

Next set I was alone. It was hard to have no one there to push me, and not have a feel to where I am. I went too slow on like all of them. I was getting super slow times, but I guess that happens every monday. My legs were hurting really bad, and they felt dead. Bill left it up to me to stop or do another set. I chose another set.

3rd set, not much better than the 2nd. But I pushed myself, and it feels kind of weird to be doing the type of speed where I am actually pushing hard. Yeah, I admit, I've been taking it kinda easy on the speed the last couple weeks, but I realize my times are not fast, and so I'm going to push again.

I'm just glad I got it over with. Did a mile cool down with the team and then ran home to get 9 miles.
