Speed today. Much confusion on if we were going to the oval or not. Turns out we didn't. Yay!!! We did the usual drills with the sprinters. Then distance went up to the track. A few of the others dropped off their flats, and then we ran up to Sunnyside and did a lap in there. There was soooo much snow! It was unbelievable! It was so muddy, so instead of doing more at Sunnyside we went along guardsman to the crosswalk and crossed and went back to the track to make our warmup 2 miles. Then we did speed changes. I was able to keep up with the group (ish). I fell a bit behind. Then we did 6 400s and 200s. (400, 200, 400, 200....)

So, for the 400s I got them all 1:22 or under, except for the last one. the last one I had a mental crash, and then I got a 1:26. To "make up for it" Bill made me change the last 200 into a 400. He said that I needed to get it at a 1:20 or under, and if I didn't I had to do it again. He said that he would pace me. Well, on the first 200 I felt like Bill was going really fast, and I fell a little back, and then Bill yelled at me to catch up to him. The others dropped out t the 200 mark, and were cheering me on from there. I tried as hard as I could to catch up to Bill. I was getting closer, but it was too late. He had already crossed the line. When I crossed, I felt like my legs were gonna fall off. I was so tired. I really did not want to do another one. Then Bill and I ran the opposite way, and when the others caught up we turned around and went back to were their shoes were. Then I asked Bill what time I got, expecting a 1:22-1:24. He said I got exactly 1:20!!! Yay!!! He would've made me do another one if I had not made it, and he made that clear. Between the 400 and the 200, We did a lap recovery.

On the 200s I got around 36-38ish. I always just tried to keep up with Bill. It was hard, but easier than the 400s. Between them and the 400 was a half lap recovery.

Then, for a cool down, we did a grass lap, but then realized it was muddy, and then did 3 laps on the track, and back to the school to make it 10.

My question for the day: Why do squirrels eat acorns?

Tough workout today and you were very tough. I am very happy with your dedication and the huge progress you continue to make. Simplot should be another huge PR after what you proved today. Mental toughness helps when you start to crash.

Now my 10 year old tells me they eat them because they need to make their teeth dull, to wear them down. Otherwise, their teeth will grow out of their head and kill them.
