I lost my bib number...I was really worried about that for the first part of the day, and ended up going to the problem registration area with Olivia and got a new one. The guy said they normally charge $50 for that to happen, and I still can't tell if he was kidding. It wouldn't surprise me if that was true. But he said I looked like a nice person so he did it for me for free.

I ran about 2 miles of warmup including strides and such. Then came the racing part of the trip.

I got a bad start. I got boxed in right at the beginning. The 2nd time going around the field area I was able to start to make moves and move up, but then came the stupid switchbacks. I felt the negative thoughts coming on but I told myself  "not today" and worked through it. I was able to keep running, something I was worried I wouldn't do because last year that was where I died. So I was able to keep going. Then I was fine until the 2nd hill, where I really wanted to stop, but I didn't, I kept going. Then on the 3rd hill I was breaking down and my optimism was fading. Right at the top was where I walked and I'm really mad about it. I crashed and the last half mile I wasn't racing anymore, just running it, wanting to be done. I'm really mad about it, I wish I would've been able to get myself to start kicking and stay focused. If I had I might've been able to medal. I was 59th though and it was the faster race, compared to my 131 last year in the normal race with 23:37. So I guess there was improvement, but I had wanted to do better.

Then I did a cool down of 2.5. Just did as much as I felt like doing.

I was gonna go for 8, but then it was getting dark so I cut it short. I went over to guardsman and then did the shriner's run to the drinking fountain and turned around and went back. I saw some old guy 3 times in his white car driving around and got a bit creeped out...then I was back to guardsman and I felt better :) Then I saw Chris going off on his run along guardsman! :)

Today I ran on my own again, except I had to hurry because I had a babysitting job. I was going to do a 10 miler, but had to cut it short. Turns out that "10 miler" was actually an 11 miler. That's cool. I went from my house up to foothill, then followed it down to 13th and then went over to south temple, then went down to A street where I turned around and went back up to 13th and then went to sunnyside, then up sunnyside over to some street to 9th then on military and followed 17th back home.

It was the first run that i've done by myself that has actually made me sore...I guess I actually was going pretty fast :) or at least fast for me.

Today my mom didn't want me to go far or cross busy streets so I just went for a 4 miler. My knee has been hurting me lately. So has an area on my ankle.

I didn't have much time to run today, so I just went for 5.25 to get to 40. It was really slippery and snowy so I went kinda slow.

Now I'm really sick of going on my own runs. A full week of them just seems like way too much. I feel bad for all the people who don't have anyone to run with.

I switched up my shoes today. It didn't really help that they were also past their mileage. I did like the feel of them, so maybe I'll get another pair of those. Tomorrow I will see how my other pair of nikes feel.

I ran 2.75 miles, then got a friend to come running with me :) She's seeing if she wants to quit cheer next year and do something else and was testing out running. I got her to run 3 miles. Except she kept wanting to stop. I hope I didn't scare her off.

Well it took a REALLY long time to get those 3 miles in because of all the stopping and starting, and the slow pace. But I was glad to get her to come.

It seemed like a 12 miler at least, but it was really only 9. Probably because it took forever to complete. Maybe I should've gotten 6 in before I met her. Oh well.

My ankle was hurting when I was finishing to 9. I really hope I don't get injured again. It hurt really bad when I tried to massage it.

I have to check how far I actually ran today, but I'm just too lazy right now to get my watch. Plus I'm in photography right now and my locker (okay Abigail's locker) is all the way on C floor. I'm on A floor. Oh and I'm not off task or anything Frank just hasn't actually talked to the class yet. To prove my point we're making snowflakes right now :)

Hmmm maybe 2 weeks worth of runs by myself isn't a great idea...I feel like a slacker. I just have a hard time motivating myself to run. I used to be able to just like that but now it's like I try to make up any excuse not to run. I wonder how I managed last year...let's be honest though last year I probably took off a ton. haha. this is bad I need to get motivated again. At least I've been trying.

Duel in the pool today! Maybe I should've run before it, but I didn't. Then afterward I decided not to go running because wet hair in the freezing cold didn't appeal to me.

So we had a track meeting thingy and then we went for a run. We did shriner's run. I felt better than I thought I would for taking off 3 days. Yeah now I feel bad for taking time off. :(

It actually felt really nice to run with people, and to go at a faster pace.

I went for my own run today. My ankle bothered me a bit. I was originally going for the 8-10 area, but I didn't realize how far I had gone until I was still about a mile and a half away from my house. :) I felt really good actually. My legs didn't hurt until afterward. But my face sure did. Apparently running in the dark isn't such a good idea when you can only see the headlights of the traffic. Can you see branches? No. It happened twice. I think more lamp posts should be put up along the one side of sunnyside and foothill. Also 17th is pretty sketchy at night, lamp posts there would be nice too. :)

We ran up to the track and did a mile of speed changes, and then we went up to foothill and along there, then did a lap in the cemetery I think and went along 13th to the school.

I'm thinking I shouldn't have taken that much time off. I just couldn't get myself to go. I made up the excuses that "hey, it's christmas eve" or "hey it's christmas" and didn't go. Actually, I have a valid reason for not going on Christmas. As soon as we opened presents and such we went to my grandmas house and stayed there practically the whole day. Then when I complained to my mom that I needed to run, she said I couldn't in the dark because a lot of people get drunk this time of year, and that's probably true so I didn't argue. And that's why I didn't run on Christmas :) Although, I DO regret it now.

Today we went to the oval. We did 4 laps warmup, then did stretching, drills, and a bunch of core stuff. 2 more laps warmup then we did a 3ish mile tempo. I stayed with Bill and Garek for a bit but then I fell off of them. I feel like I could've stayed with them, I just didn't want to. I need to work on that. At least I refused to stop when the Zamboni tried to cut me off...it honked at me a ton, but I got mad and sped up so I wouldn't have to stop :) Then we did 4 laps to be at around 6.

I feel really out of shape. This sucks.

I had to babysit today for my neighbors and so I couldn't go to the oval. I actually wanted to go to the oval, but I knew that if I backed out of the babysitting job they probably wouldn't ever call me again. On the up side, I'm $25 richer :)

Anyway, after I finished babysitting I went for a run. I did about 3.5 miles and went to Patrick's house where he joined me and we did 4 miles. Then I decided to finish to 10 so I went along 19th a ways and turned around and went back home. 

Wow the core stuff yesterday really made me sore... maybe its a sign that I should be doing core everyday. I will start now. Man so many things that I haven't been doing that I should be doing.

Maybe I should've split it up into 2 runs, but I didn't know if I would be able to get myself to go again... at 13 mile mark I stopped and ate 3 handfuls of snow, then finished the run. By the end I was going at a slow 9 minute pace, but I was focusing on getting myself to finish because I was worn out.

I felt kinda slow today. I decided to run part of the VA loop, and then went in the cemetery where I saw Bill, so I stopped and talked to him for a bit. Then I did a lap and found the big buck and other deer in the middle of the road as I rounded a corner and it scared me... then I ran along 13th to 21st then to 15th and back home.
