Personal:

Junior at SUU majoring in Exercise Science and minoring in Psychology. Served an LDS mission in Independence, Missouri. Planning on graduating with my bachelor’s degree in Spring 2020 then going to PTA school after. Haven’t decided yet but I might take out my fifth year of eligibility. If I do, I’ll declare psychology as my second major and work on that my 5th year. We will see how running is going, if I’m doing really well then I’d like to stay and see what I can do. This is an opportunity not a lot of people get so I want to make the most of it and chase down my dreams. We will see what life brings.

Today we did 2 laps warmup, stretching and drills. Then we did 2 miles warmup and a mile speed changes. We did fartlek of 10x1 minute on 1 minute off. Of course the day I forget my watch. When I could no longer hear Tomy yelling on and off I would just look at Dakota and see if he was going fast or slow. Then when Tomy and Chris lapped me I could tell that they were now just adding on. I stopped. Then Dakota and I ran to the school and picked up bus passes and then ran back, counting it as .5 Then when I got home I decided that 7.5 was not enough mileage for one day, so I did another 4. I should've run this morning but I was enjoying my beauty sleep.

Race: Practice meet @ East (1 Miles) 00:05:49, Place overall: 2

Today was the practice meet at East. I don't know why but I didn't think I was racing. But I did. I honestly wasn't at all prepared to race. My only preparation for it was thinking, "run fast." I did a mile warmup, then stretching and drills. Then 2 more miles warmup with the boys, and a mile of speed changes using half of the track. Then went over to the start line.

Bill told me to take it out fast at 75. My first lap was 74-75. My 800 was 2:38. Then I had a hard time moving after that, and when Abigail came up on me I wasn't prepared to fight. I let her go and didn't care about it. My last 800 must've been very slow. I'm mad at myself that I just let her go like I did, but it's a practice meet and that's why we practice. Any other day I feel like I would've done much better.

After doing the 1600, I cooled down a bit. Then warmed up for the 800. I got mad when a girl decided to get right in front of me and slow down. So at the 100 I passed her and took the lead, then kept my pace and just tried not to slow down. 2:37.

Then Bill told me I was doing the 800 in the medley. My split/time was 2:38, same as the 800 split in the 1600.

Then did the 4x400 relay. It felt fast. I don't know what it actually was.

Did a cool down with Tomy and Chris then added on to get to 10 for the day.

Today we did normal warmup, then distance did some barefoot strides on the football field and went for a run. I went with the boys to the fence at red butte and then we went on a small trail and continued through the U campus. Then we went back up to the track and I did another mile with Tomy and Chris to get to 10.

Today I had to babysit, so I went home and changed and then did about 3.5 warmup, then 2 miles speed changes. Then I started my workout. Bill wanted me at about 1:45, I think I have a problem with pacing because they were all way too fast. First one was 85, 86, 91, 87. Then I did a grass lap and ran home.

Race: Cougar Relays Freshman/Sophomore (2 Miles) 00:12:38, Place overall: 1

Today was the meet for the freshmen and sophomores. I ran the 3200, 1600, 800, and 400. I've got to say I was tired afterward. I warmed up and did strides.

I felt good the first 2 laps, got a good lead, then I slowed down from there. I wish I would've done better, but now I am reminded of what the 3200 is like, it's been a while since I've raced it. I believe I got 12:38.

Then for the 1600 I did terribly again, 5:57. I was tired from the 3200.

The 800 and 400 felt fast, I feel like I did better.

Then I did some cool down with Chris and realized how much I would have to do tomorrow to get to 80...Man this week was definitely not a good week for me in more ways than one.

Congrats to our teams! We set the new record for the 3200, and I believe the 1600!!!

Today I did the 3200 and 1600, both still weren't great. My 3200 I believe was 12:35ish and 1600 5:59. The 1600 I really didn't feel good in. My calves were dying and I feel like I just ran it, didn't race. That's the thing, this meet did not feel like a real meet to me. I didn't like it. Or maybe I just wasn't in the mood for racing.
