I was going to run this morning, but I couldn't find anyone who could come. And there's no way I was going by myself.

We ran to the U track and then did a mile warmup, mile speed changes. Then we did an 800. I hit 2:51. Then we did a lap recovery. Then we did 4 400s, each with a lap recovery. I hit 81, 90, 85, and 86 I think. Then we did an 800 with a lap recovery. I don't remember that time. I think I would've done better if I had been in a better mood, and wasn't already thinking about negative things. On the 2nd 400 I quit mentally. When I saw Emmaline in front of me I guess I just gave up.

I felt like I was working hard on most parts of it, but I just didn't come up with the times I wanted. Obviously on the 2nd 400 and last 800 I didn't. I got that feeling of nearly throwing up. So I guess that's good. But my abs also hurt, so I'm thinking that doing core is something that's actually necessary. I kinda haven't done it for like a month. And even then I only did it for 1 week. Maybe it's time to start again, and this time actually keep doing it...

WE LEAVE FOR FOOTLOCKER ON WEDNESDAY!!! I AM SO EXCITED!!!

We went to sugarhouse today. We did 400s on a hill thing, 4 of them. Then we did 4 hills on the really steep one. Then we did a 2 mile tempo. I was supposed to hit around a 14, but I hit 14:48. I kind of zoned out on it and didn't really focus on hitting my time, I should've done a better job of that. Then the girls left early, and I ran with Abigail on the way back.

I ran in the morning with Abigail and Caden. Then we went to school for like half of a day and then left for Footlocker!!! So no running after that because of the terribly long drive to California.

I love the lower elevation! Bill said we were only gonna run 4 miles. He had a route all planned out but when he let people get a head start they went the wrong way, so we had to follow them and turn them around. Then we went back towards the hotel and then started the run he had origionally planned, but then we found a trail and took that for a ways, then decided to keep going when it was time to turn around, and took that until it ended, then we found where it picked up again and basically took an adventure run back, somehow it was 4 miles close to the hotel. Then we went to Disneyland!!! :)

I really don't know how much we ran, I'm guessing that we did a mile. We checked out the course and ran up the switchbacks then back down that hill that follows. It was so muddy!! It was like 2 inches thick on the bottom of my shoes! The switchbacks aren't as bad as I remember them being from last year...That's pretty good I guess! Then we went to the beach in the freezing cold rainy weather. But it was still fun :)

I lost my bib number...I was really worried about that for the first part of the day, and ended up going to the problem registration area with Olivia and got a new one. The guy said they normally charge $50 for that to happen, and I still can't tell if he was kidding. It wouldn't surprise me if that was true. But he said I looked like a nice person so he did it for me for free.

I ran about 2 miles of warmup including strides and such. Then came the racing part of the trip.

I got a bad start. I got boxed in right at the beginning. The 2nd time going around the field area I was able to start to make moves and move up, but then came the stupid switchbacks. I felt the negative thoughts coming on but I told myself  "not today" and worked through it. I was able to keep running, something I was worried I wouldn't do because last year that was where I died. So I was able to keep going. Then I was fine until the 2nd hill, where I really wanted to stop, but I didn't, I kept going. Then on the 3rd hill I was breaking down and my optimism was fading. Right at the top was where I walked and I'm really mad about it. I crashed and the last half mile I wasn't racing anymore, just running it, wanting to be done. I'm really mad about it, I wish I would've been able to get myself to start kicking and stay focused. If I had I might've been able to medal. I was 59th though and it was the faster race, compared to my 131 last year in the normal race with 23:37. So I guess there was improvement, but I had wanted to do better.

Then I did a cool down of 2.5. Just did as much as I felt like doing.
