Today was the 15k. Well, the wind was out of control. Too much wind to race 9.3 miles. Or so I thought. Of course, my judgement doesn't matter when it comes to Bill. Haha.

We drove to the point where the water station was going to be. We did a mile warmup from there. It was hard to breathe when going out into the wind. I tried to draft off of other people, but it doesn't work for me for some reason. I guess im just not good at it. Ha.

Then we drove in Kiley's car back to the starting line, everyone crammed in. It was squishy. Then we did 2 strides, and I was tired already, so I did no more. Wind.

Guess what?!!! The guy actually had a siren to tell us to start! It wasn't like the other ones where they were like, "Okay, Ready? Okay 1, 2, 3, okay go!" they just did the siren. Although it was kinda quiet.

I don't know why but i had a bunch of energy. I feel like I went really fast the first 3 miles. Ha i could've PRd. I started off at my own pace, but I felt like I was going a bit fast, but I didn't care. Not too far ahead was Bill and Kiley so I tried to get up to them. then I slowly fell back. I was on my own from there on. I was ahead of Abigail, so I thought something must be wrong. But I felt like I could've gone a really far ways at the pace I was at. I felt good.

At the water station I completely knocked the cup out of Dakota's hand and on the ground. Ha! Okay it was an accident. Then I just got another one from Kim. That gave me something to think about for the next 3/4 mile. :)

At the turn around point we were then running right into the wind. It had calmed a bit, but it still felt horrible. The 5th and 6th mile were the hardest for me. I had a mental battle. I wanted to stay positive, but it was really difficult. Then I saw the building, and I felt so much better and got really hyper. I was singing something like "We are almost there don't cut your hair...." random stuff and then got weird looks from other people.  I didn't care.

Then I decided if I was singing random songs I needed to go faster. So I did at around the 2 miles left mark. I kicked it at the mile mark. Speed change! :) Then with about a 1/2 mile I went even faster, and then Bill and Natalie and Tomy and Kiley were yelling at me to kick, so I sprinted to the finish line. I feel like this was a pretty good race. Well, for being my 1st 15k.

Cool down was .7 miles with Natalie, Tomy, and Kiley and then they went inside the building and I finished off my miles for the week.

Bread and Hot chocolate after!!! Yummy! found a new yummy thing: the bread dipped in the hot chocolate. Delicious!

Panda after that!!! Yummy orange chicken!!! :)
